MARTYN DEMPSEY
Martyn has been a professional painter for over thirty years initially studying at the St Ives School of Art. His work has often been experimental which is notable across this period.
He started his career by exhibiting at the acclaimed – The New Carftsmen Gallery in Cornwall, where his work joined a stable of renowned British artists. His portfolio was quickly in demand, and he was soon exhibiting in galleries all over the world.
Martyn has since studied at the famous Florence School of Art with the renowned painting and drawing instructor, Lukas Brandli. He is currently on show at ‘Art of Verona 2021 - Modern Contemporary Art Show’ in Italy October 15th – 18th. He has a permanent display at The Fornacia Art Gallery in Florence.
Martyn’s intense passion for conveying what he sees on his travels is translated into sketches which he brings back to his studio in Zennor, just outside St Ives; it is here where he creates his work mostly on canvass using oils. He often likes to use pencil with water colours.
Admittedly obsessive, Martyn will spend many days and nights working around the clock to create the ultimate painting.
Martyn has an impressive and dedicated following of private collectors, including The Rothchilds, Lady Spencer, Lawrence Llewelyn Bowen, Vanessa Redgrave, HSBC Bank and Morgan Stanley.
He has a strong following throughout the creative, music and corporate arenas. His first book, which was published 2021, has gone on to strengthen his position within the Arts community.
