White Water at Fistral

Fistral Beach is famous for its huge swells, it is fascinating to watch.  The power of the currents pulling and pushing the water is mesmerising.  This piece focuses on that churning momentum in the white water, creating the most beautiful hues of white through to deep turquoise blues.

I have used sea salt and sand in the acrylic paint to build the depth in the waves and fine poska pen to add the fine detail in the white water.   This reproduction has been printed onto Slate, a beautiful link to the county of Cornwall and its history with slate, which it has been producing since the 17th Century.
