Breaking Point

Using my drone to capture aerial footage of the swell at this beautiful cove, I was fascinated by the contrast between its sheltered surroundings and incredible power in the water.  I wanted to portray that contrast in this piece, the quiet protection on the right and the fierce power on the left.  To build the depth on the white water I have used sand and sea salt in the paint.  This reproduction has been printed onto Slate, a beautiful link to the county of Cornwall and its history with slate, which it has been producing since the 17th Century.
