MOLLY BRISTOW

00:00 / 01:04

My work predominantly features iconic figures alongside a spattering of movie references, designer labels, a whole lot of pink and pop-culture! I have tried to find my own style of work that merges everything I love together. I also use layering techniques throughout my work to hide hidden symbols and wording that is personal to me, but also motivational and aspirational.

I am passionate about creating art that promotes conversation, that makes people laugh and appeals to the rebel within all of us. If I can make someone smile just for a moment whilst
they ponder my art, then I am happy!

After a dark period in my life that seemed so stark and greyscale, I re-discovered my joy and passion again through art. This collection has served as a healing process for me, whereby I have been able to realise my pink, sparkly and rainbow filled dreams and portray them to the world.

You will notice that a few of my artworks
feature that all too familiar face mask. For me, it wasn’t just simply about tying into current world events - the mask is symbolic in portraying my emotions during and after that dark period in
my life. To me, the mask represented the noise
in my head, the confusion about who I am,
and who I can be. About me having dreams juxtaposed against juggling my ambitions and motherhood. I know many of people could
relate to this internal struggle!

Through my work I strive to promote fun and creativity, with a little bit of cheekiness. I want to show people that anything is possible and dreams can become reality when you put your mind to it.
